Overview

OneLine – Daily Diary ("the App") is developed by Kevin Merz ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application.

The short version: OneLine does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. Your journal entries, mood data, and all personal content stay exclusively on your device and in your private cloud sync (your personal account). We have no access to your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. Specifically:

• We do not collect personal information
• We do not collect usage analytics
• We do not track your behavior
• We do not read, access, or process your journal entries
• We do not access your mood data, streak information, or any other content you create
• We do not upload any of your data to our servers — we have no servers that receive your data
• We do not display advertisements or use ad-tracking technologies

Local Storage & Cloud Sync

All journal entries, mood selections, photos, and personal data are stored locally on your device. If you use cloud sync, your data is synced through your own private cloud account. This sync is encrypted in transit and at rest by the platform provider.

We have no access to your cloud-synced data. The sync happens directly between your devices through your personal account, not through any servers we operate.

In-App Purchases

OneLine offers an optional one-time Premium upgrade through the App Store. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by the App Store and our payment processor (RevenueCat). We do not collect or store your payment information. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app user ID to manage your purchase status — no personal information is shared with them.

Biometric Authentication

The Premium version offers an optional biometric lock feature. Biometric data (Face ID / Touch ID) is processed entirely by your device's operating system. We never access, store, or transmit biometric data. This feature simply uses the system's built-in authentication to protect access to the app.

Photos

If you attach photos to journal entries (Premium feature), these photos are stored locally on your device and synced through your private cloud account. We do not access, analyze, or transmit your photos.

Notifications

Daily reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.

Children's Privacy

Since we do not collect any data, OneLine is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using OneLine – Daily Diary ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

License

Kevin Merz grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms of Use.

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all journal entries, photos, mood data, and content you create in the App. We do not claim any rights to your content.

Journal Content & User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• All content you write, store, or attach in the App (journal entries, mood data, photos)
• Maintaining backup copies of your journal data
• Ensuring your device and cloud account are secured to protect your private entries
• Any consequences resulting from the content you create or store in the App

No Professional Advice

The App is a personal journaling and mood tracking tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, or any other form of professional advice. Mood tracking features are for personal reflection only and should not be used as a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are experiencing mental health concerns, please consult a qualified professional.

In-App Purchases

The App offers an optional one-time Premium upgrade. All purchases are processed through the App Store and are subject to the App Store's terms and conditions. Refunds are handled by the App Store according to their refund policy.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or completeness of content

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KEVIN MERZ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of journal entries, mood data, or other personal content
• Loss of streak data or streak history
• Missing, corrupted, or inaccessible entries or photos
• Failure of cloud sync resulting in data loss
• Loss of Year in Review data or statistics
• Loss of profits or revenue
• Business interruption
• Loss of use or functionality
• Any errors in data export (PDF or text)
• Failure of biometric lock or unauthorized access to journal content
• Any other damages arising from the use or inability to use the App

This limitation applies regardless of whether the damages arise from use or misuse of the App, inability to use the App, or interruption, suspension, or termination of the App.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Kevin Merz from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law principles.
